The Winter School is devoted to storytelling and the study of narrative. The programme includes lectures on narrative in a variety of media and settings (film, literature, art, journalism, education, life writing) and attention is also paid to the dangers of storytelling. It also includes a one day symposium on the negotiation of values in narrative, with keynotes inspired by recent work by Liesbeth Korthals Altes.
Strongly interdisciplinary, the Winter School focuses on how narratives are both informed and shaped by, as well as transmitters of values. Lecturers include leading European narratologists such as Jan Baetens, Marco Caracciolo, Marina Grishakova, Stefan Iversen, Stefan Kjerkegaard, Liesbeth Korthals Altes, Hanna Meretoja, Luc Herman and Bart Vervaeck.
Please send applications, consisting of a letter of motivation (500 words) and CV, to email@example.com
The deadline for applications is 15 November.
The participation fee is €375 with, or €325 without accomodation. This fee includes lunches and drinks throughout the duration of the Winter School and access to the official Winter School diner on Wednesday 31 January.
